Could you or your company help with sponsorship?
Would you be interested in talking to us about how you could help make this project a real ongoing major success? As well as being in touch with local councils and trusts, we are contacting local companies to see if they would be interested in sponsoring one tablet or more, (Apple or Android) that would be used for training purposes. The plan is that new older clients will be able to borrow one to help them make the decision whether they would like to acquire one. They will be given a taster session concentrating on their areas of interest. That might be playing Scrabble, downloading an audio book, finding out how to get their fortnightly shopping delivered or talking to their relatives the other side of the world. Then we are hoping that we will be able to really subsidise people to obtain one for themselves.
We will be able to help many more people if we find companies who would be prepared to help. Companies buying computer equipment are often able to obtain wholesale pricing which can be considerably less than the retail price, and they can also put this type of purchase against tax. The back of the tablet will have an advert like this and their help will be acknowledged on a sponsors page on this website. This can include a logo and contact details. Tripod IT have generously agreed to sponsor the first tablet and we are hoping other companies we are in discussions with are going to follow suit.
